The Statuario variety gives its name to the large family of products that as a whole are defined as Statuario but – case by case – are declined in different varieties. Statuario is an extremely prestigious material and appreciated even in the most demanding markets such as the United States, it boasts globally many applications in the field of Interior Architecture and Furnishing: today Statuario is an established material and in a further growing trend for its very elegant appearance and strong personality that gives it a strong iconic imprint, representing a real status symbol for the setting that uses it, thanks to the cold and very clean white background and the unmistakable cold gray veins called in jargon ” stick” that characterize the main texture, giving the aesthetics of the finished products an impact of strong elegance and class.

origin and extraction

Extracted in the province of Massa-Carrara, in the portion of Mount Bettogli opposite the sea.
Since the 1970s the quarry has been cultivated with diamond wire in the open without the use of explosives and worked with the classic method of overturning the bank, the sello Statuario di Bettogli quarry was the first to implement the certification of sustainability and environmental impact as well as certify the Product Life Cycle (Life Cycle Assessment): these acknowledgments do nothing but make known a work began over ten years ago thanks to which all the extraction technologies have been reviewed and improved one by one, implementing every possible solution once to improve production efficiency, safety and reduce the environmental impact.







Grain, background and veins

  • Background Pure or almost pure cold white, with nuances sometimes on very light blue tones that sometimes veer on delicate green tones.
  • Iconic gray veining, unique in the world, a symbol of elegance and character, with a thousand shapes and inclinations, often sometimes decisive and marked, isolated like a stick in the snow, sometimes softer as if to form a written texture.
