Origin and Extraction

Extracted in the province of Massa-Carrara. Cultivated with diamond wire without the use of explosives since the 1970s, in its various areas the quarry as a whole could constitute the ideal study ground for a professional who intends to find the three main extraction technologies in one place: open pit, well, and in the tunnel, always without the use of explosives. The management of the extraction process aimed at minimizing the environmental impact is particularly careful, in the future development of the quarry the prevalence of the extraction technique in the tunnel will be further strengthened, among all the one that best reduces the environmental impact.

Grain, background and veins

  • Very fine grain, not visible to the naked eye
  • White background sometimes tends to be light gray.
  • Quite evident regular grain of medium size, more or less dense, creating a vague arabesque design.
